Authors from Around the World

The Redbreast - Jo Nesbø, Don Bartlett Let the Right One In - John Ajvide Lindqvist, Ebba Segerberg The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson After Dark - Jay Rubin, Haruki Murakami The Shadow of the Wind - Lucia Graves, Carlos Ruiz Zafón

These are books I’m either currently reading or planning to read in August and September. Would anyone like to suggest other international authors? I’m open for anything.

Comment with your favorite non-American authors. Names of your favorite books by them would be helpful too.

*hugs and high fives*

  1. Classic Book Reading

A really good Scandinavia writer Peter Hoeg most famous for the book Smilla’s Sense of Snow. He is a great storyteller, recommend that book.

Hans Fallada, a German author. He wrote a famous book called “Every Man Dies Alone”. The title was heavily quoted in Donnie Darko. It’s set in Nazi Germany and based on a true story. He also wrote wonderful children’s books but I don’t think they’re available in English.
I’d also recommend Franz Kafka, but only if you don’t mind confusing, surrealist books. If you don’t understand and analyse his stories, they’re still cool horror stories though. I prefer his short stories but my favourite novel is probably “The Metamorphosis”.
